Hands
are used to work over the muscles and the cane is used to focus on
knots. Muscles relax to a deeper level when the cane is warmed.
Stimulation of the tissue by the bamboo sticks relieves the sluggish
state of the muscles and tendons, dissipating the heat, resulting in an
accumulation of toxins and poor circulation, much the same as what would
occur through deep-tissue work, trigger-point activation, or various
acupressure techniques.

Bamboo Massage Technique
The
therapist’s hands are replaced by bamboo canes which are able to give a
deeper and firmer massage. The cane, held by the therapist is rolled
over the muscle with similar strokes to those done with their hands. The
muscle is then pressed, which assists in the release of tension and
easing out of knots. This technique utilizes the general principles of
massage. The Bamboo Massage promotes circulation, relaxation and other
general benefits.
